Okay, so enough numbers… – WHAT WERE THE RESULTS?
Remember, in order to decide on the best insurance companies, we ranked the insurance companies based on the lowest percentage of complaints, as well as on the percentage of compliments they received, giving points to the top 5 best ranking companies in each category and the top 10 companies with the highest percentage of compliments.
These are the companies that received the most points in the “smaller” insurance companies group:
- Momentum (first place)
- Alexander Forbes (second place)
- Prime Meridian (third place)
Let’s see how these companies ranked in each of the categories:
Momentum: Momentum ranked highest only in the “feedback/response” category but received second, third, fourth and fifth place in the other 4 categories. The percentage of the complaint reports was low enough in all of the categories for them to be included in the ranking for each category. Momentum also received first place, i.e. 10 points, for having the highest percentage of compliments.
Alexander Forbes (AF): AF received the highest amount of points for having no reports in the category of “repair/servicing,” as well as highest points in the “billing/accounts” category. They came in third in the “call centre” and “breach of contract” categories. The percentage of complaints in the “feedback/response” category was the highest in this group of insurance companies, so they received no points for that. This indicates that they need to improve their feedback and responses. AF received third place for the percentage of compliments.
Prime Meridian: Prime Meridian was second place in “repair/servicing,” “call centre,” and “breach of contract” categories. They ranked third place in the “billing/accounts” category and fifth in “feedback/response.” In terms of compliments, although it was on the lower end, they ranked fourth. _________________
These are the companies that received the most points in the “bigger” insurance companies group:
- Auto and General
- 1st for Women, Old Mutual, Outsurance
Auto and General ranked highest, while the remaining 3 insurance companies received equal rank numbers when all the numbers were tallied.
Let’s see how these (bigger) companies ranked in each of the categories:
Auto and General: Auto and General received second place for “billing/accounts” and “call centre” categories, third place for “breach of contract” and fourth place for “feedback/response.” They received the highest percentage of complaints in the “repair/servicing” category, indicating this may be an area they need to improve upon. Auto and General received the highest percentage of complaints overall.
1st for Women: 1st for Women received second place in the “billing/accounts” and “breach of contract” categories, as well as third place for “call centre.” Their percentages for “feedback/response” and “repair/servicing” were at the higher end, implying these may not be their strongest areas of customer service. They did receive third place for their high percentage of compliments.
Old Mutual: Old Mutual ranked the highest in the “repair/servicing,” “call centre,” and “breach of contract” categories. They received fifth place for “feedback/response.” Interestingly, Old Mutual received the lowest percentage of compliments.
Outsurance: Outsurance received first place in the “billing/accounts” category and second place in the “feedback/response” category. They received fourth and fifth place in the other three categories. Outsurance ranked sixth in terms of their percentage of compliments.
