Best featureThe Fiat 500L is a lot more practical version of the standard Fiat 500. It is a proper minivan, almost double the size of the 500 with a lot more space and similar design that looks just great. I love that people turn heads when I drive by. The car is still rather new so there are not many of them on the streets. It is very easy to drive because the sitting position is very high so you can see everything around you. I have a multifunctional steering wheel with loads of different commands that I can use without lifting my hands from the steering wheel. The instrument cluster is very clear and designed so that just a quick glance gives you all the necessary information. I love loads of different storage spaces in the cabin, including the cup or bottle holders in front of the gears stick. There is enough room in every section of the car. Legroom in the back is just amazing. Also, since the car is very high, none of the passengers will ever lack headroom. The Fiat 500L is very safe and it has Five Star Euro NCAP rating, which is the highest rating available. I have a 1.4l engine and it is enough to propel the car confidently, although it is definitely not made for racing. What I love the most is the fact that I can drive this car equally easily in the city and on a long trip. The six-gear transmission is a great perk on the highways. I can drive fast and keep the fuel consumption and engine noise levels low.
At higher speeds, due to its height, the wind noise becomes significant. The same reason is to blame for somewhat strange and imprecise high-speed cornering.
Some plastics in the interior seem a bit cheap, although I have had a car for a year now and everything is as good as new.
The seats were a bit strange for me in the beginning. They are not small, or anything like that, but there is a lot of space between the front ones and doors, which creates the impression that you might fall from the seats. Of course that there is no real danger of this, but it seemed strange in the beginning and it took some time to get used to it.
