Kia Rio

Best feature

Kia Rio offers more than I expected. I bought it to be a small city car with a low buying price, cheap services and low fuel consumption. I opted for a sedan version, although I think that the hatchback is designed better, because I thought I’d welcome the extra room in the boot. And I was right. My Rio has a 1.2l engine. It might seem a bit small for a car of its size – and it is – but I wanted good fuel efficiency in a car that is not very small and I got that. The car has just 85hp and the weight of over 1,000kg so the top speed is under 170km/h, while the acceleration to 100km/h takes about 14, 15 seconds, which is really not fast. However, it is sufficient, especially having in mind the fuel consumption of under 6l/100km on average and only about 7l/100km in the heavy city driving. On the open roads and driving steadily I managed to get under 5l/100km which I really wasn’t expecting from a petrol engine – a nice surprise, really. The interior looks great. This might be the best part of this car. Materials are great, especially having the price in mind and even the plastics don’t seem cheap. I don’t have the big navigation screen in the middle, but it still looks pretty nice. I love the multifunction steering wheel which enables me to control the radio without lifting my hands, or turning my eyes from the road. The dashboard clocks are big and easy to read. The interior is packed with small storage spaces and everything seems at hand. Getting used to driving my Kia Rio really took a short time. The exterior looks modern, although not as good as the interior. The front makes the car seem far more powerful than it really is and the fog lights are a great addition. Considering my needs, I don’t think that I could have bought a better car for the money. It’s fuel efficient, large enough, it drives well and it was very cheap.

Worst feature

Ok, it is a bit slow at times. This is the only real issue I have with this car. I’d like it to provide a bit more zest when I press the pedal, but amazing fuel consumption compensates for this easily. Some might find more flaws, but considering my needs and the price of the Rio, there is nothing more to complain about I would say.
