Best featureOpel Zafira has seven seats, which is very useful. The far back two fold into the floor when not needed, providing large boot. It is also great that those two fold into the floor, so you do not have to store them anywhere. I have a 2.2l petrol engine with automatic gears. There are smaller engines available, but I wanted this one and it was a great choice. It has almost 150 horsepower and it reaches 100km/h in about 10 seconds and has the top speed of about 200km/h, which is not really racing potential, but it is great for a car this big. The design is ok, not special, but a lot better than the old model of Opel Zafira. It is pretty box-like, which makes parking easy. Additional perk is that the Zafira wears standard 195/65 R15 tires, which means they are pretty common, always available and cheap.
I hate the folding armrest. I mean, it is a good thing generally, but this one is placed in a way that it gets in the way of a gear lever, which is pulled back a bit. If my Zafira weren’t automatic, I think I would hate it even more, since using it on regular basis would be a real issue for me.
It is reasonably fast, but not a racing machine, especially due to difficult steering at higher speeds. It also drinks a lot of fuel (I would say). About 8l/100km on average.
The inside is ok, but the plastic is not of the highest quality. The design of the interior is nothing special, I feel like I’m in a cheaper Opel car from the same generation, such as an Astra. On the outside it is pretty unimaginative and dull.
I also had a problem with fuel pump. Once replaced, everything was fine.
The rear two seats are smaller than the rest and they are more for children than adults. An adult can fit in, but a longer ride will not be pleasant. Also, the middle row of seats is a single bench. It would be a lot better if the seats were all separated.
