Best featureThere aren’t many Volvos around, so buying one did not seem like a safe bet. Still, after loads of research I found that Volvos have a good reputation, design which I like and plenty of tech features as standard, so I decided to get one, after all. Choosing the engine was also not an easy task. All I knew was that I wanted a petrol engine, a capable one, but also practical. I didn’t need a car capable of racing, but I wanted one with a good pull. The final choice came down to an S60. The engine I chose has the displacement of 2 l and it has 245 horsepower. The Volvo S60 accelerates to 100 kilometers an hour in less than 6.5 seconds which is truly amazing. Looking at the brochure I found out that the top speed is 230 kilometers an hour. I have never driven it this fast, but I can say that the car pulls confidently even from well over 100 kilometers an hour. My car has eight automatic gears which shift without a glitch and return the fuel consumption of about 9 l in the city, 5 l on the highway (or even below that) and just over 6 l on average per 100 km. In terms of design, it is very modern both on the inside and the outside. Side view of the exterior shows a soft and sloping lines which, at the front, ends with a protruding nose surrounded by four aggressive headlights. The car is not huge, so having only 16-inch wheels does not impair the design, while it reduces tires costs significantly. I have never heard anyone say anything bad about the exterior of the S60. The interior, on the other hand, splits opinions. Some people consider it too modern while others, including myself, just love it. The seats are very comfortable, the materials are of high-quality and the driving position is raised a bit which is very practical. The central console is slightly angled towards the driver and everything on it is very easy to use. There is enough room for four people to comfortably travel long distances. Handling is just amazing and I feel very safe cornering even at higher speeds. The S60 is also a very safe car.
The boot is not large enough for a car of this class. It has the volume of about 380 l and most competitors offer more.
Five adults can fit inside, but comfortable longer travels are limited to four passengers, while the fifth one would require everyone in the back to squeeze.
