Which Services Do MiWay Insurance Provide?
MiWay provide a range of short term insurance products, which includes MiWay Car Insurance, as well as buildings, household and business insurance. As part of their vehicle insurance options, MiWay also offers motorcycle insurance.
Motorbike Insurance with MiWay
The MiWay Insurance website doesn’t offer particularly specific information about their motorbike insurance option, stating that a policy will be designed for you based on your needs. Because of this we can only give you the following general information:
-
Free roadside assistance is provided;
-
There are rewards for not claiming (though the MiWay Insurance website does not specify these rewards);
-
You will be eligible for MiWay Rewards (see below);
-
Accessories can also be covered in your policy, including riding gear as well as things such as custom spray painting and racing suspension (though all accessories must be declared separately when you are applying for a policy to ensure that they are individually covered);
-
All kinds of bikes are covered, including quad bikes, cruisers, off road bikes and superbikes;
-
How you use your motorbike will be taken into consideration when assessing your premiums (presumably this means that weekend riders, for example, will pay lower premiums than those that ride a daily commute).
Again, this information isn’t especially specific, but we assume that MiWay Insurance will give you more specific information based on your particular needs when applying for a policy.
MiWay Rewards
MiWay Insurance does also have a rewards programme which you are entitled to take part in whether or not you have to make a claim on your insurance policy. There are three kinds of MiWay Rewards:
-
Loyalty Reward: if you remain a MiWay Insurance client for three years you will receive one month’s average premium back, you will receive one month’s average premium for every two years after this;
-
Online Reward: if you buy your policy online you will receive one month’s premium back after a full three month’s worth of premiums have been paid;
-
Referral Reward: for every person you refer to MiWay who buys an insurance policy you will get R1,000, you will also get a bonus of R5,000 for every five people you refer that buy their policies online.
How Do Customers Rate MiWay Insurance?
Hellopeter, the website where consumers can review service providers, lists 9226 reviews of MiWay Insurance from the last twelve months. Of these, 7981 were positive reviews, and 1245 were negative. Many positive reviews spoke of excellent customer service, whilst the majority of MiWay Insurance complaints were about feedback and response times. These reviews are for all of MiWay’s services, including not just motorcycle insurance, but still, these numbers are encouraging for potential customers, and it’s unlikely that a home insurance customer, for example, will have a different experience than a motorbike insurance customer.
How User Friendly is the MiWay Insurance Website?
The MiWay Insurance website was easy to navigate, with nice drop down menus on every page, so finding what we needed was simple. The general outline of each policy was written in easy to understand language, making shopping easy even for customers new to the insurance market. We did find a lack of more detailed information about MiWay’s motorbike insurance option. But to be fair, the website did state that the policy was designed to meet individual needs, so possibly the company needs more information about you before they can give specific information.
MiWay Insurance for Motorbikes: The Bottom Line
MiWay Insurance does offer a motorbike policy as part of their vehicle insurance options. It’s tough to evaluate the policy itself, due to lack of detailed information though. However, customer reviews of the company are positive and encouraging. In order to get the best policy for you we do always recommend comparing quotes from different companies though. Start this process easily by clicking on the banner above (or the top right of the home page) to get a few free quotes.
